A press conference was held at Bret Hart’s new bar in Cowboys on Thursday, February 16th to announce the inaugural Champions Charity Bash which will benefit both Kidsport Calgary and the Flames Sports Bank charities. This is a celebration of combat sports in the city and a return to the “Big Event” night of fights from years past.
The brainchild of Kieran Keddle the CEO will combine Muay Thai, Pro Wrestling, and White Collar Boxing to make up a card full of the different sports top athletes and local celebrities as participants that helps a local charity. Legendary Calgarian Bret Hitman Hart will be on hand for the event as his family has started Dungeon Wrestling to build upon the legacy of Stampede Wrestling in the city.
As part of the event, there will be a series of workshops for kids on Friday, May 19th to allow them to try and expose themselves to the different martial arts and wrestling.
Kidsport Calgary and the Flames Sports Bank are the charity of choice and are excited to be able to participate in this unique event. Kidsport ambassadors will be on hand to act as celebs and may get involved in the action themselves.
